SOB's is excited to announce deep house afro-soul pioneer Osunlade is set to hit the stage Saturday November 29th. One of the most respected names in the global dance scene, Osunlade is known world-wide for making dance floors shake with his soulful, deep house tracks. An ordained priest in the African religion of Ifa, Osunlade graces everything he touches with uplifting, spiritual vibes.
Osunlade started making music as a pianist at the age of seven playing piano and trumpet in his school band. At age seventeen he moved to Los Angeles where he went on to be a presenter of the popular children's show "SESAME STREET" and produced music for the program. In the late 80's he started working as a producer and session musician, and has produced records for Musiq Soulchild, Patti LaBelle, Najee, India Arie, and Eric Benet. In 1999, after becoming disillusioned with the restrictive, commercial nature of mainstream record labels, he decided to follow his passion and start his own label, Yoruba Records. It was then that he had the artistic freedom to express himself musically and as a result, he was drawn to house music as an artistic medium. Since establishing Yoruba Records and releasing Paradigm, his debut album, Osunlade has grown to become a pillar of the global dance scene. His music will definitely make you move, but it's the feeling and emotion of his sound that resonates most with listeners.
